10 Things to Pack When Travelling with Your Dog

Planning a trip with your dog? Keep this travel checklist handy and make sure you carry these essentials when travelling with your dog.

Documents: Make sure you have all the necessary documents, including your dog's vaccination records, health certificate, and any other required paperwork. It's a good idea to make copies of these documents and keep them in a safe place, separate from the originals.

Food and Water Bowls: Bring along food and water bowls that are durable and easy to clean. Consider packing collapsible bowls that take up less space in your luggage.

First Aid Kit: Pack a first aid kit for your dog, including items such as bandages, antiseptic wipes, and tweezers. Consult with your vet regarding what would be appropriate for your dog and condition.

If your dog takes any medications, make sure you pack enough to last the entire trip, and bring along a copy of the prescription.

Food and Treats: Bring enough of your dog's regular food to last the entire trip, as well as some treats your dog loves. Keep in mind that changes in diet can cause stomach upset, so it's a good idea to stick to familiar foods.

Favourite Bedding: Bring along your dog's favourite bedding and toys to help them feel more comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings. This can also provide some sense of home and familiarity.

Engaging Toys: Make sure you carry your dog's favourite toys so that they feel at home at the holiday home as well. You can also try some interactive games so that your dog stays busy indoors as well.

Poop Bags: Make sure you have plenty of waste bags on hand to clean up after your dog, particularly when travelling by car or when you take your dog for a walk at your pet-friendly hotel.

Grooming Supplies: Pack a grooming brush and any other necessary supplies to keep your dog clean and well-groomed on your trip.

Extra Towels: These can come handy to clean your dog on-the-go or even as a spread when you go out for picnics with your dog.
