Summer Care Tips for Our Cute Streeties
A bottle of cold water, an umbrella, sunglasses and sunscreen. These are some of the essentials that we carry with us while going out in the sun. Unlike us, our cute streeties have nothing with them to face the scorching heat. To support and help ensure that our cuties can endure the heat wave, we have come up with some easy tips for hoomans to follow.
- Provide them with water: Water is essential for both hoomans and doggos. Our streeties need them the most, as they are constantly exposed to harsh sun rays. Providing them with water would help them to make up for the lost water due to perspiration. It would also bring down their body temperature.
- Offer food in clean bowls: The next most important thing would be to offer them food. The energy burned to survive on the streets needs to be made with good and clean food, so that they can survive for another day. Make sure that the bowls are clean as it is easy for streeties to catch diseases as compared to us hoomans.
- Provide shelter from the sun: Another way to help them out is to create makeshift shelter for them. Or you can allow them to rest under any shady spot in your home during the peak summertime. This way our streeties would not have to roam around searching for a resting place.
- Aid any sick or suffering streetie: It might be a bit hard to spot a streetie who is sick, but if you do, please contact a professional to come aid the streetie in need. Keeping the number of a nearby animal rescue centre would help when it comes to aiding a sick streetie.
- Check under your car for any sleepy streetie: Just like your precious fur babies, even streeties take long naps to help conserve their energy. Unfortunately, when they are not able to find any shady spot, they prefer to sleep under our cars. This can prove to be fatal in case someone uses the vehicle without checking first.
These are some of the most basic tips that we can offer in terms of ways to help our a streetie in need. We would encourage you to do your utmost to help these cute souls to survive in this torturous season.
